Replacing Your hard to find Boat Manufacturer Brand Logos and pinstriping.
Replacing your boats manufacturers’ logo name could be as easy as ordering the graphics from the boats manufacturer and slapping them on your boat.
But before you do make sure the sizes are correct. With every size boat comes a little bit of a difference in the size graphics. If you are replacing your boats graphics take a good photograph of the old graphics and some accurate measurements before you remove the old name and graphics.
If the graphics are not there anymore look for the ghosting of the old graphics so you can purchase the exact same size. Ghosting is what you see on the boats gel coat. If the graphics have been there for years usually there is a UV tinting of the whole boat except where the graphics laid. Sometimes the adhesive is still remaining on the boat in which you will see a darker image of the logos outline.
Sometimes it is necessary to measure the ghosting precisely to make sure your new graphics are the same. I personally like to add an additional eighth of an inch around the whole logo just to make sure the graphics cover.
Most of the times boat manufacturers do not carry the boat graphics anymore and usually refer you to a sign shop. If they do still carry the graphics they can come at a steep price and is still uncertain if they have the right size. Not to mention if you want it in a different color or want something different with other graphics incorporated.
